How the Fort Hood figures on this site are made
The numbers on Fort Hood Neighborhoods are a main-gate hour, a 2026 housing allowance, Monday morning drives to Bernie Beck, school-district names, and Bell CAD appraisal figures for four Bell County cities. The post those figures describe was Fort Cavazos from 2023 through 2025 and is Fort Hood as of June 11, 2025. The ceremony was July 28, 2025. The namesake is Col. Robert B. Hood.
Name: June 11, 2025 announcement and July 28, 2025 ceremony.
Category A means, and two homestead averages
Texas is a non-disclosure state. Where this site shows a price figure, it is a mean market value of Category A single-family accounts from the Bell Central Appraisal District 2025 certified totals, ARB approved, certification dated 8/4/2025. It is not a median and not a sale price. The four means are Killeen $231,980 (n = 40,958), Harker Heights $303,774 (n = 9,112), Belton $283,358 (n = 5,807), and Temple $256,911 (n = 26,774). They appear in each town's quick-facts box and in the comparison table.
Harker Heights and Temple also have a homestead average in that same certified report: $325,045 (n = 6,496) and $282,070 (n = 18,246). The homestead average is a separate line from the Category A mean. The count is different. The quick-facts box is where those averages are printed. Killeen holds the lowest Category A mean. Harker Heights holds the highest mean and the higher homestead average.

Drives to Bernie Beck
Each drive is a Google Maps direction for a Monday, October 5, 2026, 7:00 a.m. America/Chicago departure, checked 2026-10-04. Origins are Killeen City Hall at 101 N College (2.6 miles, 4 to 7 minutes), 305 Millers Crossing in Harker Heights (8.0 miles, 9 to 14 minutes, the short I-14 drive), Belton City Hall at 333 Water St (21.5 miles, 20 to 24 minutes), and 2 N Main St in Temple (29.0 miles, 26 to 35 minutes). The destination is the Bernie Beck / Marvin Leath area. The ranges are Google's typical-to-worst times. An OpenStreetMap router, OSRM, corroborated them to the OpenStreetMap pin for Bernie Beck Gate.
The range excludes the gate ID-check wait. It is one morning from one public address. Bernie Beck Main Gate is published as 24/7 every day, with no commercial cargo truck access, which is why the town pages use it as the commute gate. A search for the name Bernie Beck can drop a pin on Clear Creek Gate at 1425 Clear Creek Rd. Clear Creek is a different gate. The corroboration step is what keeps the measured pin on Bernie Beck. Marvin Leath Visitors Welcome Center, adjacent to the main gate, is 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily at Bldg 69012, T.J. Mills Blvd, Fort Hood, TX 76544. Cargo traffic is directed to North Clarke Road ACP 9 TIF at the Clarke Road exit, westbound I-14/US-190. That exit is not the commute destination.

School districts
Students attend schools where they reside. Confirm the campus by address. Killeen and Harker Heights are named to Killeen ISD from city and district pages, with the address check stated on the page. The Harker Heights page leaves any single citywide high school unnamed. Belton is Belton ISD, using the district's Infofinder. Elementary boundaries adopted in March 2023 remain the boundaries for 2026–27. Temple is named as four districts: Temple ISD, Belton ISD, Academy ISD, and Troy ISD, with Belton ISD overlapping the west and southwest. The Temple page names those districts and stops, rather than printing a partial campus list. No campus is ranked.

Basic Allowance for Housing
BAH figures are the Department of Defense 2026 rates for military housing area TX286, Fort Hood / Killeen. Duty ZIP 76544 maps to that area. The site prints seven grades, with and without dependents: E-4, E-5, E-6, E-7, O-1, O-3, and O-4. Town pages repeat the with-dependents rates for E-5 ($1,695), E-6 ($1,920), and O-3 ($2,340). The allowance is set by the duty-station ZIP. The city ZIPs cited on the town pages locate the cities. They are not a second rate table.

County and recheck
All four cities are in Bell County, from the Texas Municipal League city directory. Figures are rechecked every 90 days, or right away when BAH, gate hours, or certified totals change. Gate hours, drives, the Bell CAD totals, the ZIP-to-area mapping, and the school notes were last checked 2026-10-04. BAH rates were checked 2026-10-04.
