Bernie Beck Main Gate
Fort Hood's published gate is Bernie Beck, 24/7
The official entry page publishes hours for one gate: Bernie Beck Main Gate, open 24/7 every day. Commercial cargo trucks are not part of that gate. The four town drives on this site end at the Bernie Beck / Marvin Leath area, and they leave the ID check out of the clock. The post those hours belong to is Fort Hood. It was Fort Cavazos from 2023 through 2025, then Fort Hood again on June 11, 2025, with the ceremony on July 28, 2025. The namesake is Col. Robert B. Hood.

Bernie Beck Main Gate
| Gate | Hours |
|---|---|
| Bernie Beck Main Gate | 24/7 every day. No commercial cargo truck access. |
A map search for Bernie Beck can resolve to Clear Creek Gate at 1425 Clear Creek Rd. Clear Creek is a different gate, and it is not the main gate's name. This site uses Bernie Beck for the main gate. The entry page's published hour is the Bernie Beck hour in the table. Neighborhood drive times were checked to the Bernie Beck pin, not to that Clear Creek address.

Marvin Leath Visitors Welcome Center
The welcome center is adjacent to the main gate: Bldg 69012, T.J. Mills Blvd, Fort Hood, TX 76544. Hours are 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily. That is a shorter day than the 24/7 gate beside it. Someone arriving outside those hours is looking at the gate's clock, not the center's. The installation ZIP on that address is 76544, the ZIP that maps to housing area TX286.

Commercial traffic is a different road
Cargo trucks use North Clarke Road ACP 9 TIF, at the Clarke Road exit on westbound I-14/US-190. That point is not a commuter gate. Bernie Beck's published rule is no commercial cargo truck access. A household commute measured to Bernie Beck is not a plan to use the Clarke Road exit as the daily door.

What the town clocks are measuring
| Origin | Miles | Typical range |
|---|---|---|
| Killeen City Hall, 101 N College | 2.6 | 4 to 7 minutes |
| Harker Heights, 305 Millers Crossing | 8.0 | 9 to 14 minutes |
| Belton City Hall, 333 Water St | 21.5 | 20 to 24 minutes |
| Temple, 2 N Main St | 29.0 | 26 to 35 minutes |
Google Maps supplied each range, typical to worst. An OpenStreetMap routing check corroborated the Bernie Beck pin. The ID-check wait is outside every range. Harker Heights is the short I-14 drive. The other three are identified by their public origins, not by a second gate.

Duty ZIP
Fort Hood's ZIP for the housing area is 76544, military housing area TX286, Fort Hood / Killeen. The 2026 allowance table for that area is the same whichever of the four towns a household is reading about. The duty ZIP sets it. The 2026 BAH page prints seven grades, with dependents and without.
